Unlike women where menstruation stops completely, androgen decline in men is a slow process.

Causes of menopause
Menopause is a normal part of aging in women when it occurs after 40. But as mentioned earlier, there are some women who experience it earlier, because of surgery or damage to the ovaries. This type of menopause is known as premature menopause. This type of menopause can also be a result of autoimmune disorders or genetics.
Causes of Andropause
Andropause is mainly caused by low testosterone. The hormone is responsible for various characteristics in men such as competitive behavior, strong sexual drive, deep voice, muscle strength, and facial hair. Now, men tend to produce less testosterone as they age. Also, there some medical conditions that can cause Andropause such as surgical removal of testes and testicular cancer. Patients who are on anti-testosterone therapy so as to produce less testosterone can also experience Andropause.
